| Note: ANCCE is the official registry in Spain for the Pura Raza
Espanola (PRE) horse breed also known in the U.S. as an "Andalusian" or
Pure Spanish Horse. Only horses with parents already in the studbook are
allowed to be initiated (inscribed) into the studbook. Once adult
age, the horse must be inspected to receive full breeding papers. The
Mundial PRE (by the Foundation, USA), is a separate registry (also with
ties to Spain) but is not recognized by Spain - it is not an official
Spanish registry. IALHA is the U.S. registry - it does not require
inspections and is also not recognized by Spain. USPRE is a group
of breeder in the US that is currently cooperating with Spain and ANCCE.
Thus, it is possible to nowadays "triple register" your horse if you own
a Pure Spanish horse. Most people maintain IALHA papers on their horses
as well as Spanish papers (formerly Cria Caballar and now ANNCE) if
their horses are eligible. Some people are opting to use the Mundial PRE
program as well. |
ANNCE just posted this announcement at their website on Sept. 23, 2008.
"Since February 2008, LG-ANCCE has issued 137 new Breeder Codigos in the United
States, sponsored two clinics, supported three horse shows and through USPRE has
made four Inscription & Revision tours servicing in excess of 2000 horses. The
grand opening of the LG-ANCCE office in Miami, Florida is a further testimony of
the continued ANCCE commitment to provide Breeders in North America with timely
and enhanced quality services. "
If you need to contact ANNCE, their website is partially viewable in English and
has a studbook online.
